WinDroid Toolkit v3.0 - [APPLY][UNLOCK][ROOT][FLASH]

Perfect All-in-one Toolkit for Novice


WinDroid Toolkit v3.0 is a perfect All-in-one toolkit for a novice. As from the WinDroid Changelog it has a new face-lift from the previous version v2.6 and many very useful features that I felt a newbies or a new owner of a Redmi Note 3 or the other Bootloader locked models has to try out. It is very simple Toolkit to utilize without the worries of drivers, custom recoveries images or Switch User access images. It simply all there, and for the advanced user you could sideload and do many more and download the on-demand specific drivers and files for your device.

Essentials:

  • USB DATA cable (the one that came with your device)
  • USB Port on your PC/Laptop
  • Enable USB Debugging - Goto Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > USB Debugging - Enable (If you have not activated Developer options, then Goto Settings > About phone > tap MIUIversion 7 times > You are now a developer)

Requirements:

Download WinDroid Toolkit v3.0 and Create a folder "WinDroid Toolkit v3.0".

Using WinDroid Toolkit v3.0:
Plug your device in an ON-STATE via USB cable to your PC/Laptop. Then run the WinDroid Toolkit v3.0.exe. It will downlaod the necessry drivers and install accordingly. Next you will have to choose the your device from the scrolling menu. Choose Xiaomi/Redmi Note 3. It will then automatically download the TWRP recovery image and SuperSu zipped file for you to complete the rooting process. Its a 1-2-3 process, as shown below:-


At this stage you could see that the LED is RED, you just need to hit the Refresh button and it will then turn Green or Online accordingly, follow the Step One to Unlock Bootloader, as shown below:-


The first sub-menu is Request Unlocking permission and it will bring you to the Request Unlock page, as shown below:-


Then followed by Unlocking Bootloader and follow thru accordingly, as in the imagery:-


For Step Two, it is time to flash TWRP 3.0.0 recovery, as shown below:-


The last Step is to complete the Rooting process, which you need to install SuperSU v2.65 manually using TWRP 3.0.0 recovery, as shown below:-

SP Flash TWRP3.0.0 for Redmi Note 3


Hello MIUI-ers...

Every now and then, I am doing testing towards going around the locked bootloader. This time using SP Flash Tool to flash TWRP for Redmi Note 3 as an alternative to flash TWRP recovery on a unlocked bootloader and ultimately rooting with SuperSU.

VERSION:
  • Redmi Note 3 (MediaTek)

LIMITATION: 
  • Unlocked bootloader.

PRE-REQUISITE:
DOWNLOAD:

ESSENTIALS:
  • Go to About phone > tap MIUI version at least 7 times to activate the Developer options. Go to Additional settings > Developer options > USB debugging > Enable it.
  • Fully charged your device
  • USB DATA cable that came with your device.
  • Working USB port on your computer
  • Switch off your device

STEP ONE:
After all the three zipped files are downloaded, leaving UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.zip alone, unzipped them accordingly, then start installing the MediaTek USB VCOM dirver or the Windows 10 driver whichever is applicable. Next, move the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.zip to the Download folder on your phone for easy access, as shown below:-



STEP TWO:
After you unzipped the SP Flash Tool, launch the "Flash.exe" as shown below:-



STEP THREE:
Next click on the "Download Agent" and locate "DA_SWSEC.bin" from the unzipped SP Flash Tool folder earlier and click Open, as shown below:-



STEP FOUR:
Next click on the "Scatter-loading" button and locate the "MT6795_Android_scatter" from the unzipped "TWRP300_RN3_SPFlash©feds64folder earlier and click Open, as shown below:-



STEP FIVE:
Since we are flashing the TWRP recovery, make sure the "recovery" box is ticked and unticked the "preloader" box, as shown below:-



STEP SIX:
Connect the other end of your USB DATA cable to the computer. 

Now click the "Download" button. 

DEVICE: (Still in Off-state mode) Immediately after clicking "Download" button, PRESS and HOLD the Vol (-) Down button, and connect the other end of the USB DATA cable to your device. Release the button after you see the big Checkmark which should be less than 10 seconds, as shown below:-



Unplug the USB DATA cable from your device.

STEP SEVEN:
Next what you need to do, to boot to the "TWRP 3.0.0 Recovery", you need to PRESS & HOLD the Vol Up + Power key simultaneously, and release when the Mi logo appear. Wait for a couple of second until the TWRP main menu appear, then tick "Only mount system read-only" as shown below:-



STEP EIGHT:
Next, flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65, as shown below:-


After that is done, Reboot System. Now, we done flashing TWRP recovery using SP Flash Tool and rooting using UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65.

NANDROID BACKUP for Redmi Note 3 [ROOTED] TWRP 3.0.0


Android phone has always been a geek’s joy, very convenient to customize with custom recoveries, custom ROMs and launchers. All seem too easy and fun, yet there are, times you might panic when you get a boot loop or asoft-brick while flashing or doing a simple update. There are many reasons behind it, eg. Checksum does not match, corrupted file or ROM, interruption of transmission between your device and the computer and etc. That’s where Nandroid comes into play, to restore your backup file as it was before, in working order. 

NANDROID BACKUP FEATURES:
Nandroid backup is the process of backing up your Redmi Note 3 like :-

  • Boot
  • Nvram – Stores WiFi, Bluetooth MAC address, Baseband version, IMEI/MEID number and other information.
  • System
  • User Data – Messages, Call logs, media and app data.


IMPORTANCES OF NANDROID BACKUP:

  • Revived your bricked device
  • Recover the important information stored in the NVRAM
  • Recover your personal data


REQUIREMENTS:

  • ROOTED – At least a Native ROOT
  • TWRP - Custom Recovery

REBOOT TO RECOVERY MODE:

Go into Recovery mode, press & hold, the vol up + power button and release when see the Mi Logo. Or just goto Updater app > 3 dots on the upper right corner > Reboot to Recovery mode > Reboot now, as shown below:-



CREATING THE BACKUP:

Check that you have sufficient storage on your phone for the backup, as shown below:-


From the TWRP main menu, tap Backup.
In the backup menu, tick Boot, Nvram, System and Data and encrypt if you want.
Swipe to the right, to start the backup process, which might take a minute or two depending on the size of your backup, once the Backup is Successful, just click Reboot System to go to system, as shown below:-



STORING THE BACKUP:

Now that you have made a Nandroid Backup for yourself,you need to store it separately from your device to a computer or OTG flash drive for your convenience and to recover the much needed space on your phone. 


Use your Explorer app, goto Internal storage > TWRP > Backup, touch & hold and choose cut, and move to your OTG flash drive and choose paste, or if you decide to save it in your computer just cut the Backup file into a pre-created folder TWRP on your computer, as in the following imagery:-


Only when you need it due to the untoward circumstance,then transfer it back to your phone from your computer or OTG flash drive.

REVIVING & RESTORING YOUR DEVICE:

Should you run into a bricked, a bootloop or you lose your Nvram information, all you need to do is to restore from the backup you have made earlier. 
Now, copy the Backup from where you saved it, be it in your computer or OTG flash drive and just copy the Backup file to your device’s TWRP folder.
Then Reboot to Recovery from your device, and choose Backup from the TWRP main menu, and tap Restore, choose the Backup file, as shown below:-


Having done the restoration, go back to the TWRP main menu, tap Reboot System.

Now you should be back to where you are before the bootloop or bricked.

Hassle-free Rooting for Redmi Note 2/Prime

Rooting for Redmi Note 2/Prime



Greeting to MIUI-er fans...

Rooting is the process of allowing the user to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems.

This is a hassle-free Rooting process with the help of my batch file specifically for Redmi Note 2/Prime using SuperSU and TWRP recovery to flash many of your favorite custom ROM and apps.

Environment:
  • Microsoft® Windows® 8/7/Vista (32 or 64-bit) and Windows®10 (32 or 64-bits).

Essentials:
  • USB DATA cable (the one that came with your device)
  • USB Port on your PC/Laptop
  • Enable USB Debugging - Goto Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > USB Debugging - Enable (If you have not activated Developer options, then Goto Settings > About phone > tap MIUI version 7 times > You are now a developer)

Requirements:

Flashing TWRP recovery:
After you done that, open the "twrp300+RN2_v2©feds64" folder and double click on "Flash_TWRP.bat" to start the process, as shown below:-


From here onwards, please follow the instruction as required on the command screen, as shown below:-


After completing the flash of TWRP, you will go into the TWRP Mount menu page, as follows:-

Caution: When you ticked, Mount system partition read-only, you will get OTA updates for the Official ROM and not otherwise, as shown below:-



Installing SuperSU:
Then proceed to Main menu and choose, Select Zip File/sccard/Download/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65, Swipe to Install, as shown below:-


Adjust time to your time zone, and you could make backup and restore later, as shown below:-


Then REBOOT SYSTEM accordingly, as shown below:-


Run SuperSU, Install an addon backup script that will let SuperSU survive custom ROM updates and nightlies? accordingly to ease yourself from losing SuperSU everything you get an updates, as follows:-


Now you have SuperSU installed, and you can download Root Checker to out whether ROOT has been done properly, as shown below:-


Now you are done with TWRP, SuperSU and you have successfully ROOTED your REDMI NOTE 2/PRIME.
